Pearls of Wisdom is the latest collection by CrowsToes Nail Color for Spring 2017. It consists of six pearlescent polishes with different shimmer. Being a long time collector of CrowsToes, the polishes are unapologetically bold and sexy with a side of sass. A soft and delicate color pops up only every so often. Imagine my amazement when I see that Pearls of Wisdom is an entire collection of soft and delicate shimmers. I had to clutch my imaginary pearls! I wasn't expecting it at all. But Lauri, the creator of CrowsToes, is full of surprises and keeps you on your toes.
SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP
Suck it up Buttercup is a sheer white pearly base with red to gold shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter. The shimmer takes on a pretty peach color as it transitions from red to gold. Be still, my heart.
TRIPLE-DOUBLE STANDARD
Triple-Double Standard is a sheer white pearly base with purple to green shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter. This is the one to get if you're a purple lover.
PROJECTION, DEFLECTION, & MISDIRECTION
Projection, Deflection, & Misdirection is a sheer white pearly base with pale lavender to red shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter.
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
Everybody Wants to Rule the World is a sheer white pearly base with green to peach shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter. The shifting green to peach shimmer is divine. It's such a unique combination to me that it stands out as my top favorite from the collection.
Did you think I could make it through this post without mentioning the Tears for Fears song? Nope! I was humming it the entire time I was painting my nails with this color.

GLASS HOUSE? ...DROP THE ROCK
Glass House? ...drop the rock is a sheer white pearly base with aqua to blue shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter. Gorgeous! Another favorite.
3 SIDES TO EVERY STORY
3 sides to Every Story is a sheer off-white pearly base with green to aqua shifting shimmer and holographic microglitter. The base color leans more cream than white.
THE NEXT TIME YOU THINK YOU'RE PERFECT, TRY WALKING ON WATER

It's a clear base glitter topper with holographic microglitter and blue iridescent flecks. I really wanted to pack on the bling, so I'm wearing three coats over a nude base.
Pearl finishes are often known to be streaky, but that wasn't the case with this collection. I chose to wear each color as is with three coats and a top coat. The top coat helps to smooth out the polish and enhances the shimmer.
Each one of these sheer polishes would look fantastic layered over different base colors to get an entirely different effect. Black, white, grey, or nude to name a few. I would also pair them with a base color that matches the shimmer. A silver base to compliment the holo microglitter would probably have pretty results as well. The options are endless.
